The first entity in Dubai to adopt the “Ithaq” stamp for digital authentication of documents

The Dubai International Financial Center Courts have confirmed their success in converting 100% of their internal operations and services directed to clients into fully digital transactions.

And it stated in a statement yesterday, that in implementation of the "Dubai Paperless Strategy" launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in 2018, the Dubai International Financial Center courts have accelerated the integration of their services into their extensive digital infrastructure.

The Dubai International Financial Courts pointed out that, in the same week as the launch of the paperless strategy in February 2018, it announced the “paperless litigation” initiative, by adopting the first electronic filing system for courts in the region, as secure and cloud-based technology allows uploading documents Cases from anywhere in the world, enabling judges, lawyers, and court officials to access and share case information in various formats with other users.

She explained that she had initiated the development and implementation of various digital platforms, to maintain contact with customers and auditors throughout the pandemic period, as it extended the video communication feature to include requests for lawsuits and hearings, in addition to issuing judgments, so that court users can access all comprehensive “electronic services” via distance.

In 2020, it also developed the feature of making video calls over the Internet, to connect dealers with the “will registration” service via smartphones, tablets and computers.

This option, along with the default register of persons living abroad, allows the creation and registration of a Will with the DIFC Courts.

“We will continue our journey towards digital transformation, to provide our users with the most advanced tools and ensure legal security in an age of technological disruption,” said Judge Omar Al Muhairi, Director of the DIFC Courts.

It is noteworthy that the Dubai International Financial Center Courts, in May 2021, added the final touches to consolidate its position as a completely paperless court, by obtaining the digital stamp solution “Ithaq”, to enable digital authentication of documents, and support its paperless initiative, which is a solution based on the identity platform. The UAE National Digital Safe (UAE PASS).

With the adoption of Ithaq, the DIFC Courts became the first entity in Dubai to rely on this completely paperless solution, to enable the electronic signature, issuance and authentication of court documents.
