This October has been the best month since the pandemic began in international tourist arrivals, with 5.5 million, according to data published by Turespaña.

There are more arrivals than

September, when 4.7 million visited us, and August, when they were 5.2.

September, in fact, is considered the last month of the summer period, although the tourism sector already planned to extend this season until the end of October, especially since restrictions on mobility began to be lifted well into the summer, in July.

The airlines have more than 90% of the seats for the same period of 2019 scheduled to fly to Spain between November and January and, in addition,

This is the case of Denmark, a market that since June of this year showed a faster recovery than in other countries.

145,818 passengers from this country represent 2.3% more than those who traveled in the same month of 2019.

The Netherlands is already at the level of that year, Switzerland, 83% and Germany, 77%.

The UK, which was our main source market before the pandemic, took its place again in October

for the first time since the health crisis.

Specifically, 1,107,954 passengers arrived (20% of the total), which mainly benefited the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

The Community of Madrid was the main destination for international passengers, with a 18.9% share, followed by the Balearic Islands (18.6%) and the Canary Islands (18%).

Comparing with the 2019 levels for this month of October, the Canary Islands, which is in its high season, recovers 89% of international arrivals;

The Balearic Islands, 79%;

Andalusia, 75% and the Valencian Community, 74%.
