Ralf Schwarzkopf has divided his heating technology company Hotset from Lüdenscheid into two zones.

What may sound absurd at first, is used to prevent corona.

While a 2G hygiene concept applies in the administration rooms, unvaccinated but tested employees are also allowed to work according to a 3G concept in the workshop.

Notes in the company indicate the zones.

Schwarzkopf says that this concept has been coordinated with the employees and serves to guarantee smooth operation in the company.

In order to be able to categorize them, everyone has voluntarily given their vaccination status.

For him, the measure is not about discriminating against employees who have not been vaccinated, but about differentiating them.

“Employees who have been vaccinated should get a small part of their freedom back,” says the entrepreneur.

Hotset is thus giving the direction of what could soon happen throughout Germany with rising corona numbers.

Solutions are currently being sought in all federal states and employers' associations, industry associations and entrepreneurs are reacting very differently.

The Federal Association of German Employers' Associations said that each company must decide for itself which regulations are practicable.

Both 2-G and 3-G are possible solutions.

“Local companies know best what makes sense for their employees and the company,” says a press spokeswoman.

"The population needs clear statements"

In addition, the umbrella association demands the employer's right to information about the vaccination and convalescence status of employees. "Politicians must not miss out on the fact that we need a clear basis for the further development of our company protection concepts," says employer president Rainer Dulger. According to the BDA's proposal, the vaccination and convalescence status should be allowed to be queried and saved. "Without this clear and unambiguous basis, all concepts will come to nothing," says the association president.

In addition, the association advocates that company doctors should carry out booster vaccinations in companies. Those who cannot appear at work due to their vaccination status should also not be able to claim any wages. “The yardstick for all measures must be the interests of those who take responsibility for themselves and others with a vaccination in this pandemic”.

The employers' association is in favor of a strict procedure with unvaccinated employees.

In companies throughout Germany, but especially in the high-incidence regions, the positions on corona crisis management are sometimes similar and sometimes divergent to this requirement.

"If we could, we would introduce 2-G in the workplace," said Toralf Haag, managing director of the industrial company Voith, to journalists in Stuttgart on Tuesday evening.

However, this is not possible for legal reasons.

The group, which manufactures paper machines, drive technology and equipment for hydropower plants, is based in Heidenheim.

The region is one of the areas with the highest corona incidence in Baden-Württemberg.

There are relatively few corona cases in the company, said Haag.
