He stressed that the carrier will constantly increase its operational capacity during the coming period, in order to reach pre-pandemic levels, but this also depends on developments in the markets, allowing the operation of additional flights, and increasing the capacity of flights, especially since some countries are still determining the number of passengers.

And Al-Rida continued: “Most of the flights operated by the carrier were achieving operational profitability, and I think that the profitability of (Emirates Airlines) in the next six months is related to the company’s performance during the period from October to January, but at times there is a slowdown period such as February when it declines. The demand, but the situation is currently changing, and in general, the results will be positive.”

He stated that Emirates Airlines' investments in the "premium economy class" product will be in the billions, and its cost will vary from one model to another.

Al-Rida confirmed that the airline's focus will be on returning to the previous operating capacity in terms of the number of flights, rather than opening new destinations.

Al-Rida explained that Emirates Airlines did not reach a final agreement with Boeing on the issue of delivering the new aircraft, especially since there are challenges due to some new procedures from the Federal Aviation Administration, stressing that Boeing is a reliable company, capable of overcoming these challenges. He added that the pandemic affected several matters, as it is supposed to deliver Airbus A350 planes in 2023 and this will not happen, as it will be difficult to prepare the plane for delivery on that date, pointing out that this matter applies to all planes, including the 787 planes. It is unlikely that the airline will receive any of its orders signed by Airbus and Boeing during 2023.
