China News Service, Hefei, November 14 (Chu Weiwei and Zhang Jun) Just after the "Double 11" e-commerce shopping festival, the express industry ushered in a "package torrent".

In the center of China Post Group Co., Ltd., Hefei, Anhui Province, machines roared in the parcel sorting area, and the "little yellow man" sorting robot was running fast.

As the monitor of the equipment maintenance team, Guo Zhenggu is inspecting various equipment. At this time, he has been working for nearly 10 hours and intends to continue to "fight" overnight.

Guo Zhenggu, 39, graduated from Anhui University in 2004 with a major in automation. He joined the Hefei Postal Center in August of the same year. Since then, he has been rooted in the front line of equipment operation and maintenance. His 17 years of work experience has allowed him to witness the renewal and iteration of the express delivery industry.

"Ten years ago, the daily mail processing volume reached 200,000 pieces. Now there are about 2 million pieces per day." Guo Zhenggu said that the express delivery industry has already bid farewell to pure manual sorting and relies more on the streamlined operation of equipment. It is the peak season of "Double 11", and I dare not relax for a moment.

Guo Zhenggu’s equipment maintenance team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of nearly 1,000 network transportation production equipment in the center of the Hefei postal area. He will carefully inspect every corner every day to troubleshoot possible machine failures.

Whenever he encountered a difficult and miscellaneous disease, he took the technical information, studied it all night, and applied his knowledge to the actual production, and through the transformation and upgrading, the equipment was operated more efficiently.

In 2018, the Hefei postal center process optimization and transformation project was completed, and the assembly line mail was tumbling during the slipping process, and the manufacturers were unable to do anything about it.

He used existing materials to make multiple samples, conducted multiple experiments, and finally found a solution. Then, based on the samples that were successfully tested, he drew CAD drawings and sent them to the manufacturer for mass production.

After the anti-rolling device produced according to his design drawings is installed, the mail can be smoothly dropped from the chute, and the processing efficiency has been significantly improved, saving nearly 200,000 yuan in labor costs throughout the year.

For more than ten years, Guo Zhenggu has presided over a number of technological innovations such as the OVCS letter sorter, the electronic control of the sliding contact rail of the packet extension, and participated in the construction of dozens of projects such as the construction of the International Mail Exchange Bureau and the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Technology) pilot project. , Has repeatedly won the "Small Technical Innovation and Small Invention Award" of China Post Group's scientific and technological innovation achievements.

"Equipment to replace labor is an inevitable trend." Talking about the future development of the express industry, Guo Zhenggu said that with the emergence of drones, unmanned vehicles and other equipment, the application of automation, informatization and intelligence in the express industry has become more and more extensive. While enhancing the company's own competitiveness, it also liberates manpower.

Technology promotes the rapid development of the industry, and we need to keep pace with the times.

In order to guide and train technical reserve cadres, in 2018, a model worker innovation studio named after Guo Zhenggu was established, which absorbed technical backbones from multiple positions, and he also led the team to overcome a number of technical problems.

In July 2021, Guo Zhenggu was awarded the "Good Chinese Man" with Dedication and Dedication.

"Every time I deal with difficult problems, I feel a sense of accomplishment and make myself more confident." In 17 years, Guo Zhenggu has never changed positions and dealt with machines day after day.

He believes that every job needs "screws" and "woodpeckers", and every industry needs someone to stick to it.

"For young people who are just entering the work position, the most important thing is to be down-to-earth. You need to adapt to the work, not let the work adapt to you, so that you can grow up faster." Guo Zhenggu said.
