The United States welcomes tourists from all over the world as of Monday, November 8.

A new lease of life for tourism professionals.

After 20 months of border closures and on the eve of the Christmas holidays, airlines are showing many full flights.

Many have been waiting for it for twenty months now: the American borders reopen on Monday.

The end of a "travel ban", which turned the economy upside down, decreed by Donald Trump in March 2020 in order to "protect the health and well-being of all Americans".

For tourism professionals, this represents a boon.

Air France, which offers 122 weekly flights, is full to the cities of New York and Miami.

"The lifting of the 'travel ban' translates into immediate bookings," said Marc Rochet, president of the French By company.

"Christmas is shaping up to be very good, if not complete. We are placing a lot of hope on this opening that everyone was waiting for, on the fact that people have not been able to go for two years. There is a catching-up effect which is indisputable. "

A long-awaited reunion at Christmas

A reopening followed by another pivotal period of the year: indeed, in a little over a month, the end-of-year celebrations will begin and families will reunite.

The French airline hopes to catch up with the delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic: Air France intends to offer 90% of its 2019 American offer by next March.
