As one of the leading industries in Ningde City, since the establishment of the Ningde era in 2011, Ningde’s lithium new energy industry has developed rapidly and has become the world’s largest polymer lithium-ion battery production base.
From 2017 to 2020, CATL ranked first in the world for the total installed capacity of power batteries in electric vehicles for four consecutive years.
Driven by "leading" enterprises, Ningde has introduced more than 80 industrial chain projects such as Zhuogao, Shanshan, Xiamen Tungsten, Qingmei, and Bangpu, covering key materials such as positive electrodes, negative electrodes, separators, electrolytes, battery components, and machinery. Equipment, packaging materials and other supporting projects have been completed and put into production and the total capacity of batteries under construction exceeds 295GWh.
At the same time, the lithium battery new energy industry chain project has been extended to Gutian County, Pingnan County, Fu'an City, Fuding City, Xiapu County, Shouning County and other surrounding areas, forming an industrial cluster with regional characteristics of Ningde.
It is particularly notable that since the listing of CATL in 2018, its market value has continued to hit new highs, becoming the first company in Fujian to exceed a trillion in market value.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Ningde City will accelerate the expansion and extension of consumer batteries and power batteries to comprehensive energy storage, scene applications, and key production equipment manufacturing such as light storage charging and discharging. By then, the city's lithium battery production capacity will exceed 400GWh and the entire industry chain The output value is 400 billion yuan.
