The Canadian federal government is organizing vast communication campaigns on the Internet in order to attract foreign candidates to pursue careers in Quebec.

Those who speak French leave with a serious advantage.

The country has been facing a labor shortage for several years, which has worsened with the pandemic. 221,000 positions are currently to be filled, according to a report broadcast on TF1. All sectors are concerned, but the most affected remain the hotel and catering industry, as well as health, where more than 20,600 positions are to be filled.

Quebec, which has already recorded the arrival of 44,500 to 47,000 immigrants this year, hopes to welcome between 49,500 and 52,500 in 2022, reports the Quebec newspaper
