On November 4, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a press conference.

Tang Ke, director of the Department of Market and Information Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that the recent increase in vegetable prices across the country is due to multiple factors, and the country's total vegetable supply is sufficient.

According to dispatch analysis and local reports, there are many reasons for the recent increase in vegetable prices: first, severe weather has reduced the number of listings; second, rising prices of agricultural materials increase production costs; third, significant increases in transportation and circulation costs; fourth, some Insufficient power supply in the main vegetable producing provinces in the north has affected the intensive seedling and factory production of vegetables. Fifth, the outbreak of new crown pneumonia in individual areas has spread, which has increased the difficulty of connecting production and sales.

Tang Ke pointed out that after scheduling, in-depth analysis, and listening to the opinions of industry producers, entrepreneurs and experts, it is clear that the whole year and the current period including the "two festivals" in the future, the national vegetable production is generally normal. The impact is local and staged, and only some varieties are affected.

With the exception of spinach, rapeseed, lettuce, celery and other leafy vegetables that have slightly reduced production due to the disaster, the area and output of other major varieties have increased slightly.

The total supply is sufficient, so consumers don't need to worry.
