The Dubai Multi Commodities Center, the authority of the Dubai government specialized in trade in goods and projects, announced its plan to launch its "cocoa center", as part of its vision to expand the range of goods it provides, and recently announced the expansion of the "Coffee Center", doubling its capacity by Three times to meet the growing global demand.
The center said in a statement yesterday that it is witnessing rapid growth to become a major center for ambitious companies from Latin American countries that seek to expand their business in the region and enter global markets.
DMCC added that it received the President of Colombia, Ivan Duque Marquez, at the head of a high-level delegation consisting of ministers and 50 business leaders to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade relations between Dubai and Colombia.
The visit included an event that witnessed the attendance of more than 100 people, and brought together prominent Colombian figures from the public and private sectors, as well as Colombian business leaders residing in Dubai, with the aim of enhancing opportunities for trade cooperation between the UAE and Colombia.
According to the statement, Colombia is a major market for DMCC, given the long experience that the Latin country has in the coffee sector, as Colombia's coffee exports amount to more than 780 million kilograms annually, at a time when many Colombian businessmen expressed during the event Their interest in cooperating with the “Coffee Center” of the Dubai Multi Commodities Center, due to its world-class services in terms of coffee roasting, packaging, testing, and global distribution.
