As the electrification of cars accelerates around the world, the government has decided to subsidize the construction of advanced factories in order to strengthen the manufacturing base of batteries, which are key components, in Japan.

Regarding the electrification of cars, the United States has set a goal of making 50% of new car sales such as EV in 2030, and the EU = European Union will virtually ban the sale of new cars such as gasoline cars in 2035. We have set out a policy.

It is important to secure batteries, which are key components, for the electrification of vehicles.

Under these circumstances, the government has decided to subsidize part of the cost of building an advanced factory in order to strengthen the battery manufacturing base in the country.

Specifically, we are making adjustments to support factories that manufacture advanced batteries that lead to lighter batteries and longer mileage, as well as factories with high production capacities.

With the intention of maintaining the competitiveness of the domestic automobile industry through such support, the policy is to adjust the ratio of subsidies and include the costs necessary for economic measures scheduled to be compiled this month.

Regarding batteries for automobiles, the United States has announced support for the construction of a factory of 660 billion yen in Japanese yen, and the movement to support the strengthening of manufacturing bases around the world is accelerating.
