Last weekend, long lines were lined up at large marts across the country even before they opened, reminiscent of a luxury store opening run.

A large mart in Seoul had so many customers that there was a queue of 200 to 300 meters before the store even opened.

Corona 19 quarantine measures such as checking the entry list and measuring body temperature were not carried out properly due to the rush of customers. The reason for the long procession was Korean beef.

When large marts launched large-scale discount events, such as offering half-price Korean beef to celebrate Hanwoo Day, literally crowds of people flocked to the cloud.

Events to discount foodstuffs such as squid and eggs and daily necessities, which had continued to rise in price, also had an impact.

An official from the retail industry analyzed that the recent increase in prices for food and daily necessities seems to have increased customers' interest in discount events.
