DEWA presents at Aqdar Dubai's experience in transitioning to clean energy

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that it is participating in the Aqdar World Summit, in its capacity as the Platinum Sponsor of the Summit, in its fourth session, which will be held under the slogan “Positive Global Citizenship: Enabling Sustainable Investment Opportunities”, to shed light on Dubai’s experience in the transition towards renewable and clean energy. .

The summit, which is one of the initiatives of the "Khalifa Empowerment Program - Aqdar", brings together international companies and institutions, and will continue until today, October 30, at the Dubai Exhibition Center. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, stressed that the Aqdar Summit has become an important knowledge platform that the UAE offers to the world, to exchange experiences and best practices, with the participation of elite leaders and decision-makers, to reach innovative solutions to empower and prosper societies. He added that «the summit supports the role of the UAE in promoting meaningful and constructive dialogue, and its efforts to build bridges of convergence between countries and peoples of the world, to exchange experiences and best practices and discuss issues related to empowering societies in their human, cultural and intellectual dimensions, and the vision and directives of the leadership that the state be a center of civilizational and cultural radiation for the region and the world. He pointed out that organizing the summit at Expo 2020 Dubai, which brings the world together in one place, cements the UAE's position as an incubator for creativity and innovation.He added that the authority will highlight Dubai's experience in the transition towards renewable and clean energy, as the total production capacity of clean energy has increased to about 10% of Dubai's energy mix, and will reach 13.3% at the end of the first quarter of 2022.

On its platform, DEWA displays a number of its most prominent projects, including the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex" and the "Green Hydrogen" project, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to produce hydrogen using solar energy.
