The announcement pointed out that in order to facilitate consumers to identify the expiration date of dairy products and avoid food waste, the State Administration of Market Supervision encourages food manufacturers to produce pasteurized milk and fermented milk that require refrigeration to clearly indicate the shelf life on the basis of the production date. Expiration date, such as "the shelf life is until XXXX year XX month XX day" "Please eat (drink) before XXXX year XX month XX", etc.

  According to the "Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China", food labels for production and operation should indicate the date of production and the shelf life.

The announcement mentioned that the text description can be printed in a prominent position on the package label, and the specific date can be clearly coded during the production process or printed in a prominent position on the package.

The words, symbols, numbers, etc. of the marked content should comply with the provisions of the "General Rules for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods in National Food Safety Standards" (GB7718).
