Just a few days ago, we said in our test of the new Corvette that despite its mid-engine architecture, it lacked a bit of power to really titillate its fellow Ferrari or McLaren.
And here is precisely that Chevrolet formalizes the technical information of the "Corvettissime": the Z06.
Still obviously placed in the rear central position, the atmospheric LT6 V8 of the Corvette Z06 develops 680 hp and 625 Nm, for a displacement of 5.5 liters. The maximum speed is particularly high for an American engine, since the red zone is fixed at 8,600 rpm. Available in coupe and convertible, the Z06 can be recognized by its large rear spoiler and aggressive shields, which provide 166 kg of downforce at 300 km / h. Fitted on 20- and 21-inch rims, the Corvette is also equipped with reinforced Brembo brakes.
It's hard to say that with all this, the Corvette will dominate the prestigious supercars mentioned above.
But it can in any case tickle them with very similar performances, for probably 100,000 € less.
Production will begin next summer, but its importation into Europe has unfortunately not yet been confirmed.
