The head of state asked the chairman of the board of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, when the company plans to complete the injection of gas into the UGS facilities in Russia.

“November 8th.

Reaching the target of 72.6 billion - by November 1, November 8 - we will completely finish the injection, ”Miller replied.

He also confirmed that Gazprom has underground storage facilities in Europe, including Austria and Germany.

Currently, the volume of Russian gas in these storage facilities is insignificant, Miller said.

“I ask you, after you finish pumping gas into underground gas storage facilities in Russia by November 8, to start planned work to increase the volume of gas in your UGS facilities in Europe, Austria and Germany,” the Russian president said.

He added that this will make it possible to stably and rhythmically fulfill contractual obligations and supply European partners, as well as create a more favorable situation on the energy market in Europe.

Miller answered the president in the affirmative.

“So we will do so, as soon as we have completed the injection of gas into the UGS facility in the Russian Federation, we will start pumping our Gazprom gas into the UGSF in Europe and, of course, without a doubt, as you noted, this will increase the reliability and stability of gas supplies in the autumn-winter period”, - said the head of Gazprom.

Earlier, during a meeting with members of the government, the president stressed that Russia is not interested in an increase in gas prices in Europe.

The head of the German company Wintershall Dea, Mario Mehren, said that he expects the situation with gas prices to stabilize after the launch of Nord Stream 2 and fuel supplies to Europe.
