  On the same day, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security held a press conference for the third quarter of 2021.

  In terms of employment, Song Xin, deputy director of the Employment Promotion Department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, said that China's employment recovery in the third quarter was more positive.

  First, the completion of new jobs in urban areas was faster than the schedule.

From January to September, 10.45 million new jobs were created in cities and towns across the country, completing 95% of the annual target task, an increase of 1.47 million or 16% compared with the same period last year.

  Second, the unemployment rate has fallen back to the level before the epidemic.

In the third quarter, the monthly average of the surveyed unemployment rate in cities and towns nationwide was 5.0%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the same period in 2019.

Among them, it was 4.9% in September, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the previous month and a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from the same period last year.

  Third, the employment of key groups remained stable.

The employment level of college graduates is generally stable.

The scale of rural labor migrants remained basically stable, and the total number of poverty-stricken labor migrants continued to increase, reaching 31.03 million at the end of September, exceeding the scale of last year.

  Fourth, the supply and demand in the labor market are basically balanced.

In the third quarter, the market recruitment ratio of 100 urban public employment service institutions was 1.53, an increase of 0.13 year-on-year.

  Speaking of promoting the employment of college graduates, Song Xin said that there are still unemployed college graduates from separate schools who are still seeking jobs, and the 2022 graduates will also enter the job market.

We will work with relevant parties to actively create conditions and do our utmost to promote the employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates.

  In terms of social security, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security revealed that China’s 16 provinces have increased the basic pension insurance for urban and rural residents this year, surpassing that of last year.
