China News Service, Beijing, October 26 (Reporter Du Yan) Affected by many factors, the prices of vegetables, especially leafy vegetables, in Beijing have continued to rise after the "Eleventh" period.

Wang Hongcun, the first-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, analyzed the reasons for the increase in vegetable prices in Beijing at a press conference held today, and said that the supply of necessities, especially vegetable prices, will face more challenges in the future. Take measures to ensure the supply and price stabilization of the necessities of life in Beijing.

  Large increase in vegetable prices

The supply of daily necessities is related to people's livelihood and the overall situation of epidemic prevention, and is widely concerned by the society.

Wang Hongcun said that at present, the supply of goods in Beijing is stable and in good order.

The grain and oil market has sufficient supply and abundant reserves. The prices of the main grain and oil varieties included in the monitoring are stable.

The supply of meat, eggs, vegetables, which are widely concerned by the society, is stable, and the main wholesale markets, chain supermarkets, e-commerce and direct supply enterprises are adequately stocked.

However, affected by many factors, the prices of vegetables, especially leafy vegetables, in Beijing continued to rise after the "11th".

He introduced that from October 1st to 20th, the daily market volume of vegetables in 7 primary wholesale markets, including Xinfadi, Dayang Road, and Yuegezhuang, stabilized at 22,000 tons. Affected by several cold waves in the north, they could be supplied again. For a period of time, related northern vegetables were delisted in advance.

Monitoring shows that the supply of vegetables at the wholesale end has declined recently. Due to the diversity of circulation channels in Beijing, the terminal supply of goods in the market is still sufficient and the supply is stable.

However, since October, vegetable prices have generally fluctuated upward.

From October 1st to 25th, the average wholesale price of vegetables in Beijing increased by 39.8% month-on-month; the comprehensive retail price increased by 20.4% month-on-month.

The prices of some leafy vegetables and fresh and tender vegetables have risen even more, and some have exceeded 50% or more.

Pork prices are recovering

Speaking of pork prices, Wang Hongcun said that in the second half of this year, with the restoration of national pig breeding and the increase in slaughter, the price of pork in Beijing continued to decline.

From October 1 to 25, the average daily transaction volume of pork in the 7 wholesale markets was 615,000 kg, an increase of 15.1% month-on-month.

The average wholesale price was 16 yuan/kg, a month-on-month decrease of 4.2%; the average retail price was 29.24 yuan/kg, a month-on-month decrease of 9.1%.

At present, there is ample supply of live pigs in Beijing, consumption has entered the peak season, supply and demand tend to be balanced, and prices have begun to show a recovery increase.

As for the supply and price of eggs, he said that the trading volume of eggs is stable and the price fluctuates within a reasonable range.

From October 1st to 25th, the average transaction volume of eggs in the 7 wholesale markets in Beijing was 469,000 kg, a month-on-month increase of 7.1%.

The average wholesale price was 9.5 yuan/kg, down 9.6% month-on-month; the average retail price was 10.76 yuan/kg, down 5.1% month-on-month.

Vegetable prices will continue to run at high prices

Wang Hongcun said that we are also soberly aware that the supply of necessities, especially the price of vegetables, will face more challenges in the future.

Among them, immediately entering the winter supply period, Beijing's vegetables began to switch from the supply of northern vegetables to southern vegetables, and the transportation distance was lengthened. In addition, the increase in the price of coal and other energy sources increased the cost of greenhouses in the north, which would lead to increased production costs; epidemic prevention and control The situation is grim, and uncertainties such as tightening and stricter control measures in many places will increase transportation costs.

From a national perspective, the trend of high vegetable prices will continue.

Take multiple measures to ensure the supply of daily necessities and stabilize prices

Wang Hongcun pointed out that Beijing will take multiple measures to ensure the supply of daily necessities and stabilize prices.

One is to make good use of market mechanisms.

Guide enterprises to increase supply, strengthen the docking of production and sales, broaden supply channels, increase transportation efforts, increase commercial inventory, and ensure sufficient supply and stable supply.

At present, major wholesale markets, major supermarkets, and major e-commerce companies have begun to take action.

Among them, Xinfadi Market, the largest fruit and vegetable distribution center in Beijing, continues to play its role as the main supply channel, mobilizing and encouraging large merchants to organize as soon as possible the transportation of seasonal and low-volume, high-priced products into Beijing.

At the same time, the market adopts incentives and preferential policies to encourage merchants to purchase goods in advance to stabilize the balance of supply and demand.

The second is to plan countermeasures as early as possible.

Drawing lessons from the city’s previous effective practices and experience in ensuring supply and price stability, we will study and formulate a plan to reduce or exempt entry and transaction fees for major agricultural product wholesale markets in Beijing. Beijing will provide financial subsidies for entry fees to directly reduce the entry and transactions of business operators and transport drivers. Cost, increase the enthusiasm of major transportation and sales operators to sell vegetables to Beijing, and stabilize vegetable prices.

At the retail end, according to market conditions, measures for chain stores to ensure supply and stabilize prices will also be initiated in due course.

The third is to improve service levels.

The public security department increases the police force at checkpoints entering Beijing, further improves the efficiency of entry into Beijing, provides good guidance and services, and strengthens the service of freight vehicles in the city to ensure the stable operation of freight vehicles; the transportation department initiates the management of vehicle licenses for vehicles in other cities as needed. Provide traffic convenience for drivers entering Beijing; relevant departments have made plans for the establishment of nucleic acid testing points around Beijing. Once necessary, they can provide testing facilities for drivers and passengers entering Beijing in a timely manner; free for foreign business operators and drivers who need it Staff provide enhanced needle injection services for the new crown vaccine.

The fourth is to strengthen market monitoring.

Restore the working mechanism of ensuring supply and price stability during the epidemic.

The regular report on the market supply of daily necessities such as vegetables in Beijing will be changed to a daily report. The monitoring platform of the supply of daily necessities in Beijing will be used to strengthen analysis and judgment, to grasp the market supply and price changes in a timely manner, to make timely decisions and to respond quickly.

The fifth is to consolidate the responsibilities of each district.

To implement the management responsibility of maintaining supply and stabilizing prices in each district, relevant departments will regularly report changes in the retail prices of daily necessities to the main leaders of each district.

Encourage all districts to introduce price stabilization measures and restore the "point-to-point" monitoring and replenishment mechanism of retail terminals in all districts to prevent shortages in the market.

Strengthen the territorial responsibility for the supply of daily necessities in the epidemic-controlled communities, and make every effort to ensure the supply of daily necessities in the epidemic-controlled communities.

The sixth is to strengthen overall planning.

The material and supply and price stabilization team communicates and reports information on a daily basis, makes daily judgments and discovers problems in time, and conducts daily consultations to study solutions in time.

Maintain close communication with the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Communications and the National Development and Reform Commission, report the supply situation in Beijing in a timely manner, and make requests and suggestions for stable supply at any time.

Regulatory authorities have strengthened price inspections, and severely cracked down on behaviors such as price hikes to ensure the stability of the capital's daily necessities market.
