KT CEO Koo Koo announced that he would make an official apology and prepare compensation for the massive internet failure that occurred yesterday (25th).

In an apology posted on the website today, CEO Koo said, "We sincerely apologize to our customers who have suffered inconvenience due to the nationwide Internet disruption."

CEO Koo said, "We estimated that it was a DDoS attack that was introduced from the outside due to an overload of traffic at the beginning of the Internet failure, but we confirmed that it was caused by a network path setting error that occurred during the replacement of the latest facilities for service advancement."

He added that he is actively cooperating with the government's investigation into the cause.

CEO Koo said, "I feel responsible for the inconvenience caused to customers who trust KT and use the service, and I will do my best to prevent recurrence."

In addition, he added, "We will supplement the process with in-depth inspection, and use this accident as an opportunity to closely examine the overall wired and wireless network communication network."
