PGE The Bank of Spain anticipates a sharp cut in the growth forecast and puts revenue in doubt
The International Monetary Fund, the Bank of Spain and the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF). Three of the most important national and international organizations
have already lowered or advanced a very notable reduction in the growth expected for Spain
. And, in fact, the BdE and the Fiscal Authority have done it with just a few hours apart, exacerbating the incessant cut in estimates that the Spanish economy is suffering.
If the governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos, anticipated a "significant" reduction this morning, the president of AIReF, Cristina Herrero, has been even more specific this afternoon before the Budget committee and has put concrete figures:
in 2021, the rebound of the economy will be 5.5%
, which is nine tenths less than the previous estimate of the Tax Authority itself and one point less than what the Government estimates;
in 2022, the rebound will be 6.3%
, five tenths less and well below the 7% expected by the Executive.
