Emirates Airlines announced yesterday its intention to enhance its operational workforce by employing more than 6000 people over the next six months, to support a rapid recovery.
The carrier stated that with the easing of restrictions around the world, thanks to the rapid spread of “Covid-19” vaccines, it needs more pilots, air service crews, engineers and ground staff, to support the operations of its global network, in response to the rapid increase in demand for travel from customers.
Emirates Airlines has restored 90% of its pre-pandemic network, while planning to restore 70% of its capacity by the end of the year.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group, said: “Since its establishment, Emirates Airlines has kept pace with the growth of Dubai, and our endeavor to add 6000 employees to our workforce is only evidence of the rapid recovery witnessed by Dubai’s economy, and it will open more businesses. Opportunities and positive developments across various other businesses, including the consumer, travel and tourism sectors.”
His Highness added: "We continue to work to gradually restore our operations and keep pace with the opening of borders, easing restrictions and facilitating travel protocols, and thanks to the positive indicators in the economic recovery and the continuous growth of demand, we hope to return to pre-pandemic levels starting from the middle of 2022."
Last September, Emirates Airlines launched a global campaign to recruit 3,000 air service crew members, and 500 airport services, to join its center in Dubai to support operations.
With travel demand higher than expected, the airline currently needs an additional 700 ground staff in Dubai and across its network.
In addition, Emirates Airlines provides distinguished career opportunities for 600 qualified pilots to join its team in Dubai.
