The Ministry of Economy signed a memorandum of understanding with LinkedIn, the largest professional platform in the world, aimed at supporting the objectives of the national strategy to attract and retain the best talents, minds and competencies to the country and preserve them, in a manner that consolidates its position as a preferred destination for global talents, and stimulates the diversification of its national economy and its global competitiveness. It contributes to building the economy of the future.

The ministry said in a statement today that the memorandum was signed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi, and Ali Matar, head of LinkedIn in the Middle East and Emerging Markets in Europe and Africa.

The memorandum comes within the framework of the Ministry of Economy's keenness to support talent and develop human capital as basic pillars in building a more diversified, flexible and sustainable economic system based on creativity and knowledge and technological innovation.

Al Zeyoudi stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed with LinkedIn, which will represent a qualitative addition to the ministry’s efforts to enhance the country’s attractiveness in attracting and retaining global talent in the country, by introducing promising methodologies and programs, including: Developing a strategic approach to identify the advantages of targeted talents from around the world. The world is based on data, and the development of joint action plans to contribute to creating a supportive and attractive environment for talents and competencies.

For his part, Matar said, "The major international companies are moving to adopt skills-based recruitment, to support the diversity of the workforce and bridge the skills gap in the labor sectors," adding: "It is clear that all strategies in the UAE accommodate this diversity in skills and work to attract it." and keep him in the state.

He stressed the importance of the memorandum, which will study the movement of talent around the world to develop clear strategies, plans and practical policies to attract talent to the country.
