An Egyptian official: Hotels are back to work at full capacity

An official at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism said today, Sunday, that the government allowed hotels to operate at their full capacity, while obliging them to follow strict precautionary measures to prevent the Corona virus.

Abdel-Fattah Al-Asi, Assistant Minister of Tourism, told Reuters that the decision has already entered into force.

Hotels have been operating at 70 percent of their capacity since July as part of pandemic control measures.

Tourism accounts for up to 15 percent of the country's national product and is a major source of foreign currency.
