As the movement to use wood as a building construction material is spreading because the burden on the environment is small, a housing manufacturer in Tokyo announced that it will build the first building in Japan to assemble the building frame itself with only wood.

Aqura Home, a housing maker in Tokyo, held a meeting in Tokyo on the 21st and announced that it would build its own wooden building three years later (2024) in line with the move of its head office to Saitama City.

This building has 8 floors above ground, but by using only wood for the skeleton and the construction method of housing construction, almost no metal is used for the joints.

It is said that the cost can be reduced because the carpenter of the construction shop applies the technology cultivated in the construction of the house without using the construction machinery required for general building construction.

The 12-story building that Takenaka Komuten is constructing in Ginza, Tokyo, and Sumitomo Forestry are aiming to build it in 20 years, saying that the building using wood has a small impact on the environment due to construction and will lead to decarbonization. It is beginning to spread, such as launching plans to use wood in a series of floor buildings.

However, according to the company, it is the first time in Japan to construct a building in which the skeleton itself is assembled only with wood.

Toshiya Miyazawa, president of Aqura Home, said, "I want to spread wooden buildings all over the country. If wooden buildings are lined up, decarbonization will progress further."
