Sending this check may take some time, however, as the government has to identify who needs it most, based on many criteria.
A fuel check instead of lower taxes.
This is the solution favored by the Ministry of the Economy to relieve the purchasing power of the French.
On Europe 1 Monday morning, Bruno Le Maire swept a drop in taxation because it is "very expensive", "unfair", and amounts to subsidizing "fossil fuels".
The option of the fuel check has therefore been on the table more than ever for a week, but the French still do not see the slightest help coming.
Indeed, sending a fuel check takes time because you have to identify who really needs it.

A different method of calculating the energy check
The Ministry of the Economy is focusing on these French people who have to take their car to go to work.
How far do they take their cars, should we subsidize motorists who have other means of getting to their place of work ... These are all the questions the government is answering.
It should be noted that this "fuel check" works differently from the energy check.
If the latter is based on household income, setting up a fuel voucher is more complex because the data to be recorded are more numerous.
Meanwhile, some distributors are selling at cost
While waiting for this boost, some distributors have decided to sell their fuels at cost price for a few days, in response to the request of the Minister for the Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili.
Because these price increases affect motorists well.
For a diesel car, refueling today costs ten euros more than on January 1.
If, on average, the French fill up twice a month, this therefore represents 20 euros more per month devoted to fuel.
