Dubai Customs launches "iBox" to save valuable shipments for travelers

Dubai Customs, during the activities of the first day of the GITEX Technology Exhibition, launched the “iBox” initiative, the smart box to save commercial and valuable shipments accompanied by incoming passengers “transit” who wish to keep them at the airport customs center upon arrival, without paying customs duties and returning them to the airport. Receive it through the self-clearance service at the time of leaving the country.

The department explained in a statement that the smart boxes initiative aims to accelerate logistics and handling of valuable goods at the airport, as this advanced initiative reduced the procedure for delivering precious materials from 30 minutes to one minute only, relying on the "QR Code" scanning technology, and then using the code. The sender on the traveler's phone to open the box and pay the storage fees electronically without using any papers.

She added that these fireproof boxes have superior security and smart systems, and are easy to move from one location to another in the airport building.
