"Driving" from a major transportation country to a major transportation country

——“Chinese Sample” focusing on sustainable transportation

  Reading tips

At the 2nd United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference held in Beijing from October 14th to 16th, the "Chinese sample" of sustainable transportation became the focus and received frequent praise.

China Transportation has achieved a historic transformation from nothing to something, from something to many, and from many to good, and it has become the "pioneer" of national economic development.

In addition, China actively interacts with the world, strengthens international cooperation, and contributes "Chinese power" to the sustainable development of global transportation.

Baidu 5G cloud driver control cabin, XCMG unmanned road roller, Beijing transportation green travel integrated service platform MaaS... At the 2nd United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference held in Beijing from October 14th to 16th, a series of shining The new transportation technology with "Chinese Wisdom" attracted a large number of Chinese and foreign guests in the interactive exhibition area.

At this conference, the “Chinese sample” of sustainable transportation became the focus and was frequently praised.

The "Report on China's Sustainable Transport Development" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") pointed out that China's transportation development has made historic achievements, has undergone historic changes, has entered a new stage of high-quality development, and is accelerating its progress toward a strong transportation country.

"If you want to be rich, build roads first"

"If you want to get rich, build roads first." This Chinese saying was repeatedly mentioned at this conference.

China Communications has become the "pioneer" of national economic development, which is the consensus of all participants.

A red truck drove out of the Dulong River Highway Tunnel in Gaoligong Mountain, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, towards the beautiful Dulong River Township-this is the second "Traffic Sustainability" special stamp issued on October 15th. "Poverty Alleviation" hand-painted picture.

In the past, the Dulongjiang Snow Mountain did not have roads, but only a small road. Because of the heavy snow, it was only accessible for 6 months a year.

In 2014, the Dulong River Highway Tunnel was fully completed, which changed the face of road closure, poverty and backwardness in the snowy mountains. The villagers started the "online shopping model" and embarked on a well-off road through rural tourism and other industries.

By the end of 2020, the per capita net income of farmers in the township reached 12,000 yuan, the average household deposit exceeded 20,000 yuan, and more than 80% of households owned motor vehicles.

The historic leap of Dulong River transportation is a microcosm of China's transportation development.

Nowadays, the problem of Chinese farmers' "difficulty in traveling" has been effectively solved: rural road construction has achieved leapfrog development, 100% of the country's qualified towns and villages have access to hardened roads and buses, and 600 million farmers "go out on cement roads and get on the buses." His dream became a reality.

From a national perspective, as of the end of 2020, the total highway mileage reached 5.198 million kilometers, with a density of 54.15 kilometers per 100 square kilometers; railway operating mileage reached 146,000 kilometers, of which high-speed railways exceeded 38,000 kilometers, accounting for one-third of the world's total high-speed railway mileage. Above bis; the total mileage of air routes reaches 237,000 kilometers.

"Without sustainable transportation, there can be no sustainable development. The implementation of sustainable transportation is not only to solve the transportation problem, but the ultimate goal is to support the national economy. I hope that China's experience can help more countries." Deputy Secretary of the United Nations Said Liu Zhenmin, Secretary General of the General Assembly.

From "Is there any" to "Good or bad"

What will China's transportation life look like in the future?

It may be two "123"s.

The "Report" paints a picture for us: China will basically form a "national 123 travel traffic circle" with one-hour commute in urban areas, two-hour access to urban agglomerations, and three-hour coverage of major cities across the country, and one-day domestic delivery to neighboring countries. The “Global 123 Express Cargo Flow Circle” is delivered in 2 days and 3 days in major cities around the world.

China, which enjoys efficient and convenient transportation, is also undergoing green and low-carbon innovative reforms.

At the conference forum, "energy saving and carbon reduction", "zero-carbon vehicles", and "electric vehicles" became keywords in the mouths of many participants.

By the end of 2020, the number of urban buses, parade taxis, and urban logistics distribution new energy vehicles in China reached 466,000, 132,000 and 430,000 respectively.

Going out on foot or riding on shared bicycles, buying cars and choosing new energy vehicles, etc., have become a new life choice for more and more Chinese people.

At the same time, with the continuous strengthening of transportation technology, the construction technology of China's high-speed railways, expressways, and super bridge tunnels has reached the world's advanced level; Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, Beijing New Airport and other transportation super projects are shocking The world; a large number of self-developed transportation equipment such as high-speed trains, C919 large passenger planes, and Zhenhua Port Machinery have become the new business cards of "Made in China"...

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, from “has it” to “is enough” and then “good or bad”, China Transportation has realized a historic transformation from nothing to something, from something to many, and from many to good.

Intersect with the world and walk with the times

"No one will be left behind." When it comes to sustainable transportation, Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Tetsuo Saito understood this.

China not only strives to let all its citizens share the achievements of transportation development, but also actively interacts with the world, strengthens international cooperation, and contributes "Chinese power" to the sustainable development of global transportation.

Among the more than 200 cooperation documents that China signed with 140 countries and 32 international organizations to jointly build the “Belt and Road” initiative, most of them involve transportation interconnection cooperation.

Among them, the high-profile China-Europe train has accumulated more than 40,000 trains, reaching more than 170 cities in 23 European countries.

Under the epidemic situation, China has given full play to its huge transportation advantages. The Silk Road on the sea and the Silk Road in the air shuttle day and night.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic to the end of June 2021, China-Europe Express has shipped 12.32 million pieces and 96,000 tons of epidemic prevention materials to Europe.

In addition, through platforms such as the International Maritime Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the Universal Postal Union, China has shared practical experience in the prevention and control of traffic epidemics with other countries, and has made positive contributions to global cooperation in the fight against the epidemic.

At the same time, in order to help other countries in the world to share the transportation of "people are convenient, goods flow smoothly", China has built a large number of green, safe, efficient and economical railways, highways, ports and other transportation infrastructure projects around the world. .

“The projects we have participated in the construction of Turkey-Anyi high-speed railway, Nigeria-Aka railway, Rye railway and other projects have greatly promoted the sustainable development of the local economy, society and environment.” Zhuang Shangbiao, President of China Railway Construction Co., Ltd. proudly said.

At the closing ceremony, Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng expressed his confidence and determination to intersect with the world and walk with the times: "China will implement the new development concept, build a new development pattern, and work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind, and to promote the global eradication of poverty and peace. Work together to recover the economy and realize the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals."
