According to the announcement, three major flour millers, Nisshin Flour Mills, Nippon Flour Mills, and Showa Sangyo, will raise the price of commercial wheat flour from the shipment on December 20th.



Both are priced per 25 kg, and for strong flour used for bread etc. 315 yen, for medium-strength flour and weak flour used for udon and confectionery, ▽ Nisshin Flour and Showa Sangyo 345 yen, ▽ Nippon Flour Mills 340 yen, We will raise the price of each.



Most of the wheat consumed domestically is produced overseas and is imported in bulk by the government, but due to bad weather in North America, which is the main production area, rising transportation costs, and the depreciation of the yen, flour milling companies, etc. Starting this month, the price of imported wheat sold to is raised by an average of 19% for the five major stocks.



For this reason, milling manufacturers have decided to raise prices, which may lead to higher prices for bread and udon noodles that use wheat flour in the future.
