Carry out identification cooperation with more than 1,000 brands

"With the country's continuous strengthening of intellectual property protection, the continuous deepening of anti-monopoly and unfair competition governance, and the ever-improving legal system for intellectual property protection, intellectual property will become an important guarantee for high-quality economic and social development." Zhu Jianchong, senior vice president of global affairs and chief legal officer of Pinduoduo, said that the platform adheres to the principle of equal emphasis on dredging and blocking. On the basis of introducing and supporting high-quality brands, the platform will comprehensively upgrade the intellectual property protection cooperation with the brand side, which will be more accurate and effective. We will crack down on counterfeiting and infringement of the industrial chain, and further enhance the ability to protect intellectual property rights.
In the past year, Pinduoduo, based on the construction of a new e-commerce platform and technical means, has carried out identification cooperation with more than 1,000 brands, and has discussed intellectual property rights with more than 200 brands through seminars and one-on-one meetings. Protection measures have been upgraded from the previous brand counterfeit identification cooperation to the multi-dimensional ecological construction of the brand, including data cooperation, clue sharing, and authenticity traceability.
At the same time, Pinduoduo has also established an offline joint anti-counterfeiting work group with the brand to find clues online, link offline investigations, and assist the brand in managing the source of counterfeit goods, strengthen brand protection, and promote online and offline brand ecology Healthy development.
According to Tan Yanping, head of intellectual property rights for Louis Vuitton Greater China, in April this year, Louis Vuitton joined Pinduoduo and law enforcement agencies to crack down on fake and shoddy factories located in Guangdong.
"In terms of intellectual property protection, the cooperation between the Louis Vuitton China team and the Paris headquarters and Pinduoduo has lasted for 4 years, and the two parties will start more cooperation in the future."
According to Zhu Jianchong, Pinduoduo will further increase its technical input, and through technical means, including upgrading the efficiency of counterfeit reviews, new account monitoring, traffic restrictions, etc., accurately investigate problem products and illegal merchants, improve the efficiency of combating counterfeiting and infringement, and ensure The level of counterfeit goods management on the platform has been raised to one level.
Actively respond to new issues of intellectual property protection in emerging fields
As a new e-commerce platform born in Shanghai, Pinduoduo has always regarded intellectual property protection as the top priority of platform development and governance since its establishment.
As early as 2019, the “fake one pays ten” consumer compensation system pioneered by the platform was included by the Supreme People’s Court as one of the top ten typical cases of Internet justice in China.
In April of this year, Pinduoduo established a long-term strategy of "inclusive knowledge and affordable genuine", established a special working group of 100 people, set up a 50 million reading fund, and launched a "duoduo reading month" activity.
In August, Pinduoduo invested another 50 million reading fund and united with more than 60 publishing houses such as People's Literature Publishing House and the Commercial Press to re-launch the "Duoduo Reading Month" to subsidize 2 million copies of high-quality genuine books.
In addition, Pinduoduo has also set up the "Voice Creators Program" to support writers and their high-quality works. So far, nearly 30 well-known writers such as Mai Jia, Yu Xiuhua, Zhou Guoping, Zheng Yuanjie have joined this program.
At the launching ceremony of the "Intellectual Property Protection Upgrade Project", Pinduoduo also specially hired five experts, scholars, and senior lawyers from East China University of Political Science and Law and well-known law firms as senior legal advisers to provide advice on platform governance and intellectual property protection.
Zhu Jianchong expressed the hope that through the collaborative efforts of all parties, Pinduoduo's work in intellectual property protection and platform governance will be pushed to a higher level, and continue to build a cleaner, safer, more affordable and more interesting e-commerce platform.
