Nippon Steel, the largest domestic steel company, has damaged Toyota Motor Corporation and Chinese steel giant Baoshan Iron & Steel for infringing its patents on steel products called electromagnetic steel sheets, which are materials for motors such as electric vehicles. On the 14th, it announced that it had filed a lawsuit seeking compensation in the Tokyo District Court.

In response, Toyota Motor Corp. commented, "We recognize that material manufacturers should discuss with each other, and it is very regrettable that we were sued."
