Dubai Economy issues 6,928 new licenses in September 2021

The business movement report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector in the Dubai Economy revealed that the total number of new licenses issued during September 2021 reached 6,928 licenses. The report highlighted the distribution of these licenses according to the main regions in the Emirate of Dubai. The largest share was the Bur Dubai region with a total of 4,658 licenses, then the Deira region with a total of 2,264 licenses, and the Hatta region with six new licenses, while the other licenses were distributed in the areas of Al Fahidi, Burj Khalifa Port Saeed, Al Murar, First Dubai Investments Park, Naif, Al Muraqqabat, Al Karama, First Trade Center, and Al Garhoud.

The report indicated that individual institutions accounted for 36% of the total new licenses issued during September 2021, according to the legal form, while limited liability companies accounted for 25.5%, followed by civil works by 22%.

The rest of the list of legal forms included: limited liability companies - one person (LLC), branches of companies based in another emirate, branches of foreign companies, branches of companies / institutions based in a free zone, and branches of Gulf companies.

The report indicated that the total commercial registration and licensing transactions completed during September 2021 amounted to 26,232 transactions, a growth of 12% compared to the same period in 2020, when the total transactions reached 23,455 transactions.

The process of reserving trade names reached 7,404 procedures, an increase of 40% compared to September 2020 (5,274 procedures), and the number of initial approvals reached 6,057 procedures, an increase of 49% compared to September 2020 (4,072 procedures), while the percentage of commercial permits increased by 22% compared to In the same period last year, 903 permits were issued during September 2021 and 743 during September 2020.
