The Dutch Pon Holdings, including the maker of Gazelle bicycles, is taking over the American Dorel Sports, known for Cannondales.

The merger will create a bicycle company with a combined turnover of around 2.5 billion euros.

In addition to Gazelle and Union, Swapfiets, for example, of the shared bicycles with the blue tire, is now part of Pon.Bike, as is BBB Cycling.

Pon.Bike is the company within Pon Holdings that houses the two-wheelers.

Pon is also known as a car importer of, among others, Volkswagen.

The holding company has an annual turnover of approximately 7.3 billion euros and approximately 12,000 employees worldwide, half of which are based in the Netherlands.
