China News Agency, Beijing, October 11th (Reporter Liu Yuying) Han Xia, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, said on the 11th that China's IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) network infrastructure scale is the world's leading and has applied for IPv6 addresses. Resources rank first in the world.

China's IPv6 "highway" is fully completed.

At the 2021 China IPv6 Innovation and Development Conference held on the same day, Han Xia said that the scale of IPv6 users and traffic in China has increased significantly, and the mobile network IPv6 traffic has grown from scratch, accounting for 22.87%, which exceeded the annual target ahead of schedule.

It is understood that China has nearly 60,000 IPv6 addresses, ranking first in the world, and the number of active IPv6 users has reached 550 million. IPv6 has become increasingly prominent in the development of digital economy, digital economy, and digital society.

According to Han Xia, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has clarified the requirements for terminal equipment to support IPv6 functions. The newly-released model technology of major mobile phone manufacturers and the newly deployed terminal equipment of battery cell enterprises have fully supported IPv6.

At present, basic telecommunications companies have all the conditions to upgrade IPv6 and are speeding up the replacement of old equipment.

Han Xia emphasized that while achieving significant results, China's large-scale deployment of IPv6 still has shortcomings in terms of Internet application IPv6 concentration and fixed terminal IPv6 support capabilities.

In the next step, all parties in the industry need to accelerate large-scale deployment, improve service capabilities, and coordinate the deepening of IPv6 transformation in various links such as cloud, management, end, and use.

Han Xia said that it is necessary to deepen the integration of applications, empower the development of the industry, and encourage the information and communication industry to carry out larger and deeper IPv6 collaborative innovations with industries such as finance, education, medical care, and energy.
