“We expect that over the next 10 years, card payments in Russia will continue to grow at an outstripping pace, leaving behind the world's largest economies - the United States, Great Britain, Germany - which will allow Russia to strengthen its global leadership,” the statement said.
According to the Central Bank's estimate, in 2021 the share of non-cash payments in retail trade in Russia may reach 72%, and in 2023 it may grow to 75%.
