Imagined by George Barris, “pope” of American custom, the real Batmobile from the 60s TV series changed hands in 2013 for the tidy sum of 3.64 million euros.
This unique specimen in the world is unfortunately inaccessible to ordinary people.
Fortunately, there are replicas, including the one soon to be auctioned by Mecum Auctions.
Based on a 1975 Lincoln Continental Mark IV, this one is made very faithfully.
It has the same gadgets as the real Batmobile, including a Batphone, on-board radar and a computer that prove to be very useful in the fight against crime.
For chases, this Batmobile can count on its large 7.5-liter V8 engine, combined with an automatic transmission.
