Jafza records an increase in licensing new companies

The Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) witnessed a strong growth in the number of new companies that were licensed, by about 40% on an annual basis during the first half of this year, bringing the total number of registered companies to more than 8,700 companies.

Jafza said in a statement today that among the sectors that witnessed the largest increase in the number of new companies;

The machinery and equipment sector by 188%, the vehicles and transportation sector by 100%, in addition to the retail trade and general trade sector by 78%.

Abdullah bin Demaithan, CEO and General Manager of DB World Emirates and Jafza, said: “Jafza plays a pivotal role in leading the trade sector in Dubai, a regional and global center for business and logistics, and we are proud of the achievements we have made at the same time. The global economy is slowing down.”

"The credit for this success is due to the proactive approach, innovative policies, and stimulus packages launched by our wise leadership," he said.
