Training, at the heart of the government's “skills investment plan”.

In an interview published this Monday in Les Echos, the Prime Minister said that it was necessary to "work both on the training" of employees, but also of the 5.927 million job seekers of category A, B or C, in order to to fight against recruitment difficulties which are “becoming more widespread”.

To finance vocational training, the government intends to "mobilize an additional 1.4 billion euros over 2021 and 2022, including 900 million from this year", specifying that it is a question of redeploying emergency funds that had been “Budgeted for the management of the crisis”.

SMEs with 51 to 300 employees "will benefit from 600 million to train their employees", adds Jean Castex.

New training courses open to all job seekers

"For the unemployed, we take the position of giving maximum priority to in-company training, which is directly operational," continues the Prime Minister. He indicates that the State will sign “new agreements with the regions and with Pôle emploi, to the tune of 560 million and open new training courses to all job seekers regardless of their level of qualification. Objective: to train 1.4 million job seekers in 2022 ”. For long-term job seekers, who now account for more than one in two registered at Pôle Emploi (50.3%), he indicates that he wants to "make the benefit of professionalization contracts for adults more attractive".

And this "by extending assistance for the hiring of work-study students over the whole of 2022, which works very well for young people".

This aid of 8,000 euros for a major will thus be applicable to professionalization contracts for long-term job seekers.

For young people (5,000 euros for a minor, 8,000 euros for an adult), it has been extended several times, the last time in early September until June 30, 2022.

What future for “engagement income”?

Asked also about the future "engagement income" for young people, the Prime Minister reaffirms that the objective is not to establish a youth RSA, noting that "from this point of view, the word" income " was able to question ”. “Let's remove any ambiguity, we are in a contractual logic,” he said. “We want to support these hundreds of thousands of young people who are not in employment, in studies or in training towards employment. We must put the package on integration projects, on individualized support to find - it's a term that I do not like very much - dropouts, ”he says.

While the arbitrations are long overdue, he ensures that "nothing is blocking", but pleads that it is necessary to "refine the device" to achieve the objective of "truly individualized" support.

As for the pension reform, the head of government repeats that "the conditions set by the president" are "not yet met", while adding that this should not prevent "preparing in case".
