As the movement toward decarbonization is accelerating worldwide, cars with a "hydrogen engine" that uses hydrogen, which is expected as next-generation energy, as fuel and emits almost no carbon dioxide will be released in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture on the 18th and 19th. I am participating in an open car race.

Participating in the race is a hydrogen-fueled "hydrogen engine" car developed by Toyota Motor Corporation.

It is a partially improved gasoline engine that burns hydrogen instead of gasoline or light oil to power it, and emits almost no carbon dioxide when driving.

This is the third time that a hydrogen engine car has participated in the race, and President Akio Toyoda also participated as a driver.

Toyota is focusing on the spread of hydrogen as next-generation energy, but in this race, hydrogen produced cheaply by Japanese companies in Australia is also used, and in the future, it will be costly as energy by utilizing such hydrogen. I would like to lower the price and lead to popularization.

President Toyota, who had a press conference before the race, said, "Participation in hydrogen-engined cars is all about expanding options toward carbon neutrality. I think it's a move. "
