DHL Express will increase its parcel delivery prices by an average of 4.9 percent next year.

According to the company, the price increase has several causes.

On the one hand DHL is struggling with increased costs, on the other hand the company also needs money to keep up with growth.

DHL's price adjustments vary by country in which the company operates.

Sending a letterbox package in the Netherlands to a home address currently costs 3.95 euros.

A standard package is delivered to the front door for 5.75 euros.

Sending a package abroad is possible from 9 euros.

DHL sees, among other things, rising wage costs and costs for fuels.

In addition, there is more and more work available, which means that the company has to invest money in expanding capacity.

DHL is building a service center in Nieuw-Vennep, near Schiphol, to strengthen the Amsterdam region.

A new location will be built in Eindhoven to support international shipments by truck.
