The plan for the independents unveiled.
Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday the widening of the criteria for access to unemployment insurance for the self-employed.
Present at the Meetings of the Union of Local Businesses (U2P), the professional organization bringing together artisans, traders and liberal professions, it was expected that he would announce a series of measures to improve the status of self-employed workers.
He also assured that all the personal assets of these workers "will be elusive by operation of the law [...] in the event of default".
"Only the elements essential to professional activity can be entered," added the president.
Until now, only the main residence of the self-employed was protected in the event of a professional blow.
From now on, this protection will be extended to other elements of the heritage.
This measure was a long-standing request of professionals, anxious to protect their personal property in the event of difficulties.
