In the "Fresh Porpoise Bay" in Yueyang, Hunan, a group of finless porpoises jumped out of the water from time to time following the familiar whistle of local volunteers, presenting a vibrant scene.

　　The "Fresh Porpoise Bay" is also called Hualong Wharf. It used to be an illegal sand mining wharf. It occupies an area of ​​300 acres of the Yangtze River beach. The dust, waste water and residue generated by the wharf seriously damage the wetland ecology and pollute the Yangtze River.

However, in the past three years, Hunan has focused on ecological priority and green development. It has carried out the largest water and pollution control battle in history from top to bottom, shutting down and eradicating all 39 illegal docks along the Yangtze River's main stream such as Hualong Wharf, and completing 42 berths. With the closure of the demolition and berth remediation, and the start of re-greening work, the Yangtze River's shoreline finally reappeared with beautiful green shores and clear rivers.

During the wintering period from 2020 to 2021, there will be more than 280,000 wintering waterbirds in Dongting Lake, an increase of 16.6% over the same period of the previous year, the highest in the past ten years; the stable population of finless porpoises reached 210, of which 40 are permanently stationed at Hualong Wharf.

As the country's first open foreign trade port, the upgraded and transformed Chenglingji Port not only saves 750 meters of space on the Yangtze River coastline, the coastline is completely re-greened into a beautiful landscape, and the loading and unloading efficiency has been doubled. The container throughput has been increased year-round. Maintain more than 500,000 TEUs, and the growth rate has remained the first in the Yangtze River inland port for many years.
