2013, when Samsung launched the smartwatch Galaxy 1, it was planning to apply the so-called 'fork OS' developed by Google by modifying Google's operating system.

About 70 related apps were also developed, but they became useless as Google opposed it by stating a 'non-fragmentation contract'.

If a competitor or manufacturer uses a fork OS developed by themselves, Google's Smart Store cannot be used, and the latest version of the source code cannot be obtained.

this way, the Fair Trade Commission imposed a fine of KRW 27.4 billion and ordered to correct the contract, saying that Google forced its operating system and prevented competitors from entering the market.

In 2008, Google released Android, the smartphone operating system, as an open source for anyone to use.

Thanks to this, the company took 72% of the market share in 2011, and the FTC found that it forced the manufacturer to contract to ban fragmentation.

They even said they prevented them from building operating systems for peripherals they didn't even develop.

[Chairman Cho Seong-wook / Fair Trade Commissioner: All Fork OS, which could be a strong competitor, failed to enter the market due to AFA (Anti-Fragmentation Agreement), and as a result, Google's share in the mobile sector reached 97% .]

Google said it would appeal to the courts, saying it did not properly consider the benefits to app developers, device manufacturers and consumers.
