China News Service on September 13th, Xiao Yaqing, Minister of the Ministry of Electricity Industry and Information Technology, said on the 13th that since 2010, my country's manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world for 11 consecutive years.

The State Council Information Office held a press conference on the 13th. At the meeting, Xiao Yaqing, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the situation of "promoting the construction of a strong manufacturing country and building a network power to help build a moderately prosperous society in all respects" and answered reporters' questions.

Xiao Yaqing said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, historical achievements and historical changes have been made in the development of industry and informatization, which have significantly enhanced the country’s economic strength, scientific and technological strength, and comprehensive national strength. The well-off society has made important contributions.

There are mainly several aspects:

First, the status of a major manufacturing country has been further consolidated.

Since 2010, my country's manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world for 11 consecutive years.

Mainly reflected in: large volume. From 2012 to 2020, my country's industrial added value will increase from 20.9 trillion yuan to 31.3 trillion yuan, of which the manufacturing industry's added value will increase from 16.98 trillion yuan to 26.6 trillion yuan, accounting for the global share Increased from 22.5% to nearly 30%.

The system is complete. my country's industry has 41 major categories, 207 medium categories, and 666 sub-categories. It is the country with the most complete industrial system in the world.

Among the 500 major industrial products, more than 40% are the world's largest in output.

With increased competitiveness, key industries such as photovoltaics, new energy vehicles, home appliances, smart phones, consumer drones, etc. are among the top in the world, and a large number of high-end brands such as communications equipment, construction machinery, and high-speed rail are going global.

Second, major breakthroughs have been made in innovation in key areas.

Major projects have been reported frequently. The "Chang'e 5" extraterrestrial celestial body was sampled and returned, the "Tianwen 1" started to explore Mars, and the "Struggle" successfully bottomed the 10,000-meter trench, setting a new record for my country's deep space and deep sea exploration.

The "Beidou-3" global satellite navigation system has been fully completed, opening a new era of my country's independent and independent global satellite navigation.

The world's first million-kilowatt-class hydro-turbine generator set was officially put into production, marking a new leap in my country's major equipment manufacturing.

There are many highlights of the major power equipment, the first domestic aircraft carrier is installed, the C919 large passenger aircraft is tested, the world’s largest and most technically difficult Three Gorges vertical shiplift is put into operation, the world’s most advanced ultra-deepwater drilling platform is completed and put into operation, the world’s first 8.8 m super-large mining height intelligent mining equipment has been successfully developed. UHV power transmission and transformation, large-scale tunneling equipment, large-scale coal chemical industry equipment, and small metal nanostructure materials have all ranked among the forefront of the world, marking the continuous improvement of my country’s manufacturing level. The manufacturing industry is moving from Made in China to Created in China.

The third is to accelerate the upgrading of the industrial structure.

The leading role of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing has increased significantly. The proportion of high-tech manufacturing in the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased from 9.4% in 2012 to 15.1% of last year; the proportion of equipment manufacturing in the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased from 28 % To 33.7%, and the contribution rate to the growth of industries above designated size in 2020 will exceed 70%.

Traditional industries are rejuvenated, and significant results have been achieved in resolving excess production capacity. The goal of reducing the production capacity of the steel industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan period by 150 million tons has been completed two years ahead of schedule.

The proportion of technological transformation investment in industrial investment increased to 47.1%, new technologies, new materials, new equipment, and new processes were widely used, and the proportion of new product sales of industrial enterprises above designated size in the main business income increased to about 20%.

At the same time, the energy consumption per unit of value added of the industrial enterprises above designated size dropped significantly during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, and the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” further dropped by 16%.

The digital transformation of the manufacturing industry has accelerated in an all-round way. The numerical control rate of key processes in key areas has increased from 24.6% in 2012 to 52.1% in 2020, and the penetration rate of digital R&D design tools has increased from 48.8% to 73%.

The industrial regional layout is continuously optimized. The leading role of key areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been further enhanced, and a large number of advanced manufacturing clusters have formed in the fields of electronic information, rail transit, construction machinery, and automobiles.

Fourth, the strength of manufacturing enterprises has increased significantly.

The backbone and leading enterprises have accelerated their development and growth. The total assets and operating income of China's top 500 manufacturing companies have increased from 19.7 trillion yuan and 21.7 trillion yuan in 2012 to 39.19 trillion yuan and 37.4 trillion yuan in 2020; the latest release In the list of the world's top 500 companies, 73 Chinese industrial companies were shortlisted, an increase of 28 over 2012, a very large increase.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are very active in entrepreneurship and innovation, and their level of specialization has continued to improve. More than 40,000 "specialized and special new" companies, more than 4,700 "little giant" companies, and nearly 600 manufacturing single-sport champion companies have been cultivated.

The role of the main body of enterprise innovation has been significantly enhanced. In 2020, the total number of research and experimental development institutions and R&D expenditures of industrial enterprises above designated size have doubled compared with 2012, and the number of valid invention patent applications has more than tripled.

Fifth, the information and communication industry has achieved a new leap.

The world's largest optical fiber and mobile communication network will be built, fixed broadband will be upgraded from 100M to Gigabit, and optical network cities will be fully completed; mobile communications will evolve from 4G to 5G, achieving global leadership in networks, industries, and applications.

The number of 5G base stations and terminal connections globally account for more than 70% and 80% respectively.

The ratio of optical fiber and 4G in the administrative villages and poverty alleviation villages all over the country exceeded 99%, and the communication difficulties in rural areas have been solved historically.

Network applications expand from consumption to production.

Mobile payment is widespread, and online shopping, online learning, and telemedicine have become new ways of working and living.

The integration of new technologies such as 5G and the Industrial Internet with the manufacturing industry is accelerating. New scenarios, new models, and new business formats such as collaborative R&D and design, unmanned intelligent inspections, digital factories, and smart mines are booming. The pace of digital industrialization and industrial digitization is accelerating. The economy provides a strong impetus for the sustained and healthy development of the economy and society.
