Emirates Airlines has launched the world's first virtual reality application for an airline, on the Oculus Store.

The company said in a statement yesterday that the application allows customers to explore the fully enclosed First Class suite, the air saloon on its A380 aircraft, and what surrounds their seats on their awaited flights, using virtual reality experiences.

Boutros Boutros, Senior Vice President of Emirates Airlines for Communications, Marketing and Branding, said that the airline aims to provide innovative and distinguished experiences for customers, whether on the plane, on the ground, or in the digital space.

He explained: “In 2018, we became the first airline in the world to offer advanced virtual reality technology on our digital platforms, which provided customers with an opportunity to learn about the Emirates Airlines experience that awaits them before boarding the plane. We have continued to invest and develop this experience, and today we are pleased to be The first carrier to launch an integrated virtual reality application on (Oculas).

The application, which was developed in partnership with the “Renacen Technology Company”, allows Emirates customers to move through the cabins of the “tourist”, “business” and “first” classes, and explore their seats and their surroundings, in addition to the air salon, and a bathroom "Shower Spa" on the Emirates A380.

Emirates Airlines confirmed that it is currently working on an updated version, adding the “Premium Economy Class cabin” and the latest interior designs of the giant plane, and plans in the future to provide customers with the ability to explore destinations, choose the cabin, book a flight, and pay through the Emirates Oculus VR application. ».

The application on “Oklas Store”, provides users with accurate life-size experiences and interactive cabin experiences on board the “giant” A380 aircraft, and the “Boeing 777-300ER Gamechanger”, where the user can pick up items from the air salon, or turn on the shower in the bathroom of the "Spa shower", or closing the door of the private suite, in addition to exploring the cockpit.
