Four of the six fugitives from
Gilboa high security prison
were arrested by Israeli security forces.
Among them, Zakaria Zubeidi, the former head of the al-Aqsa martyrs' brigades in Jenin, an emblematic figure of the Palestinian struggle.
The latter was captured in the company of an escape companion in a parking lot at Mont Thabor.
A few hours earlier, two other fugitives had been found in the city of Nazareth on the outskirts of Mount Precipice.
Police said the four men did not resist when they were arrested and were starving after five days on the run.
An escape without outside help
The manhunt continues to find the two still missing fugitives.
According to a police source quoted by the media on the spot, it turns out according to the first results of the investigation that the escaped prisoners did not receive external assistance and did not have a well-defined escape plan.
Immediately after the first arrest, a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip.
It was intercepted and the Israeli air force targeted several targets in the Palestinian enclave last night.
