The European Central Bank (ECB) raised its forecast for GDP growth in the euro area in 2021.
According to TASS, this was stated by the head of the European regulator Christine Lagarde.
“The new forecast implies annual GDP growth of 5% in 2021, 4.6% in 2022 and 2.1% in 2023,” she said.
According to the agency, the previous forecast implied growth in the current year by 4.6%, in the next - by 4.7%. GDP growth forecasts for 2023 have not changed.
Earlier, the ECB kept the base rate at 0%.
