1,700% increase in searches for flights from Saudi Arabia to the UAE
The travel search engine, Wego, witnessed a huge growth in searches for flights from Saudi Arabia to the UAE, after the Kingdom announced the reception of travelers from the Emirates again.
"The Middle East region has been eagerly awaiting this announcement, as Saudi Arabia is one of the most preferred destinations for travelers from the Middle East and North Africa," said Mamoun Humaidan, general manager of Wego in the Middle East, North Africa and India.
He added, "Through our website, we have seen a 1,700% increase in searches for flights from Saudi Arabia to the UAE over the past two days, while we expect to see an even greater growth in flight searches and reservations in the coming days."
He explained that about 50% of travelers are looking to travel within a week of the announcement, while 60% of these travelers are looking for a short stay (about 3 days).
Humaidan pointed out that about 80% of travelers looking for flights are individuals, followed by families and couples.
