"A block of shares in the amount of 38.3% of the authorized capital of Bashkir Soda Company JSC was transferred from federal ownership in favor of the Republic of Bashkortostan," the Federal Property Management Agency said.

In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring a controlling stake in the Bashkir Soda Company to the Republic of Bashkortostan.

In August 2020, Putin instructed the prosecutor's office to verify the legality of the transaction, as a result of which the state lost control over the assets of the BSK.

Later, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office reported that it had identified signs of abuse in the course of the transaction.

The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, said that the preliminary damage from the privatization of the Bashkir Soda Company is estimated at 35 billion rubles.
