<Anchor> This is a

friendly economic time. Today (7th), I will be with reporter Kim Hye-min. There is a lot of interest in the environment these days. So, are you saying that you are making a lot of efforts to protect and preserve the environment, but there are parts that are difficult to put into practice?

<Reporter>

Looking at the plastic that accumulates in the house, there was one part that I thought was the most difficult to implement, and that was 'not receiving disposable items when ordering food for delivery'.

It was one of the items that a financial management research institute asked about 1,000 people about eco-friendliness, and a whopping 96.7% of the respondents said that delivery and delivery have increased compared to last year.

Among them, ready-made food and food delivery accounted for the highest proportion. As a result, each household is producing a lot of disposable products.

The next difficult thing to practice was 'taking public transportation instead of a private car'. Also, there were quite a few people who answered 'Buy eco-friendly products with the mark'.

<Anchor> That's

right. After listening to the explanation all the time, I think so too. But you know all this. You know it's good to do this. But is it because of this that I can't practice this because I've gotten into a habit and it's not a habit?

<Reporter> As

mentioned earlier, it is virtually impossible not to receive disposable items when ordering food for delivery.The only way is to bring the container directly to the restaurant without having it delivered at all and pick it up.

It is difficult to implement because the effort that consumers have to put in to practice eco-friendliness is too great.

In fact, in this survey too, there were a lot of people who said 'it has not become a habit' and 'have to endure inconvenience' as reasons for not being able to put eco-friendliness directly into action.

One-third of consumers said that their consumption is influenced by a company's eco-friendly activities.

More than half of those who said they are willing to spend up to 10% more than regular products for eco-friendliness are higher than ever before.

It seems that the more alternatives that can be easily practiced eco-friendly in real life, the more people will participate.

Reporter Kim Conversely, what kind of things did you say you are doing a lot to protect the environment? (What kind of practice do you usually do a lot?) I carry a shopping cart to avoid using plastic bags, and this seems to have become a habit for me.

<Reporter>

That was one of the most common actions, and most people reduced the use of disposable bags and used shopping carts.

Six out of ten said they carry a shopping cart with them. You have to pay to buy a plastic bag at the mart, and carrying a shopping cart isn't too much of a hassle.

In addition, there were quite a few people who tried to conserve water when brushing their teeth and washing their face, by unplugging the power outlet and turning off the lights, using personal cups instead of disposable items.

These actions also have in common that they are not very difficult to implement because they are not very generous.

<Anchor> That's

right. And these days, I order a lot of delivery food, and as I said before, delivery food also contains a lot of plastic. By the way, is there a way to reduce plastic when ordering food for delivery?

<Reporter> As

those of you who have delivered these days know, you have to check in advance to receive disposable cutlery. Otherwise, I won't bring this. A lot of disposables are being saved in this way.

In one company, only 15.8% of customers did not receive disposable cutlery in June of last year, but that number increased to 73% in June.

In addition, in the future, some delivery apps will also conduct campaigns such as 'Let's not accept basic side dishes that we do not eat'. Even if you receive a side dish you don't like, you often don't eat it and throw it away.

So, when you order, if you write in advance that you don't eat side dishes or sauces that you don't eat, the restaurant will take it out and deliver it to you.

This seems to be one of the ways we can reduce a lot of waste, and small actions are making a big difference in our environment.
