Majid Al Futtaim announced the launch of Carrefour City+, the region's first cashless store, in the presence of Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, Alain Bejjani, and President CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Hani Weiss.

The company stated that the new branch, which was opened in the Mall of the Emirates shopping center in Dubai, provides a fast, smooth and free of human contact experience, using the latest artificial intelligence technologies, as shoppers use their smartphones to enter the store, while the selected goods and products are automatically added to the store. Their virtual basket, when selected, can easily be left without having to queue at the checkout counters. Carrefour City+ is the first of its kind in the region, and uses artificial intelligence and modern technology to identify thousands of products with extreme accuracy, improve inventory management, and facilitate the shopping process for customers. The store contains more than 1,300 commodities, including snacks, drinks, canned food, and ready-made meals, in addition to basic necessities, while customers can benefit from the new store and its payment methods, through the MAF Carrefour application.

The CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Hani Weiss, said that "Carrefour City +" was designed to facilitate the lives of customers using technology.
